It was an amazing clinic with over 40 volunteers as well as medical volunteers from the McKenzie Veterinary Services Clinic in Victoria and the medical team from PEACE. Many thanks for all the support, donations, time and effort provided to make this clinic so successful.
Lacy’s Corner: a week in the life of our JBAR animal rescuer
March 20th
This morning I picked up another 7 animals to sterilize and one consult dog that needs to go Wolf’s clinic in Puerto Vallarta for a thyroid check. I am going to be taking my dog there for his chronic ear infection that I can't seem to eliminate but I need permission to test this salchichas skin and thyroid. We have treated the salchicha (Dachund) for mange and for fungus but it is not getting better. I am still waiting for Vinchristina for our cancer dog with a small tumor. May need only one or two injections. Someone threw this dog in the street so after cure we will be looking for a home for her.
Total of our animals sterilized at Lo de Marco Clinic is 23.
Please eliminate stethoscopes from our wish list but add thermometers.

Zaida and I took 11 animals to Lo de Marcos today. Four cats and seven dogs, all are sterilized. I still have not gotten the Vinchristina but Marcelino says it may come in this afternoon and Paulina will give the treatment to our cancer dog. Will be going again tomorrow. I think I have at least another six animals. Lacy

I took five animals today for sterilization. We have one that has cancer and needs Vinchristina. I am working on this. . Tomorrow I am taking either seven or nine animals to the clinic. If I can get the Vin Christina, Paulina will give this to our cancer dog. It is in the first stages so will probably not need very many injections. Basically I have my hands full for this clinic but starting Sunday Chris Holmes has another clinic in Sayulita.

Paloma now has her shots and health certificates for her travel to Alberta Canada with her owner Brenda McArthur. They had her tested for Erlichia and it was positive so has been on Doxtcycline for a month and is now a more vivacious dog. I am taking animals to Lo de Marcos tomorrow. I either have seven or ten depending upon three that may not be well enough but I will write more after pick up tomorrow and day at clinic.

I have three very important friends that helped me round up the animals taken to the Lo de Marcos clinic. One is Celia who fosters and rescues many animals from the streets and playa of La Colonia del Paraiso. We couldn't do what we do without Celia. Second is Donna Steensma who on top of helping me locate animals to be sterilized, has taken it upon herself to show her neighbors how to remove ticks and apply Ectoline for Ticks and fleas. She is personally changing to Calle Matzatlan in La Penita. And the third Gayle Betzing who lives near Donna on the Beach near the old La Penita cemetery. Gayle rescues and finds home for cats. Then sees to it that her part of the neighborhood has sterilized animals. This type of help makes my job easier. Twelve of the animals taken to the Lo de Marco clinic were from Donna and Gayle's neighborhood.
My hat is off to these three ladies. Thanks for being my friends.

I went to Danny's Bodegas to inject Peggy for Sarna (mange) and she has almost all her hair. She was playing with Sheri the other dog at the bodegas. She looks good.
Yesterday a man, Aurelio Pina, from La Colonia brought his dog over. It had a small tumor and I told him to wait to see if it grew so I would know if it was the venereal cancer or not. It started growing. He loves his dog but has a family of five and can not afford treatment. I took him to Eladios and approved five shots of Vin Christina for the dog. I will check to make sure the dog is responding to treatment.
Celia found a terrier thrown out into the street because it also had the cancer. I took this dog to Lo de Marcos to be sterilized and Antonio said that most of the tumors were in the uterus which was removed but has a small tumor left. She is a beautiful dog and I took her to Eladios today for her first Vinchristina treatment for the genital cancer.

ADOPTED!!!
The reason I am writing is that I have picked up a stray Mexican pup. I have seen her at various restaurants over the past week and last night she was at Leo's new Italian restaurant (excellent!) mooching off of customers. One of the customers had a huge, chocolate lab that for what ever reason, bit this little pup on the face. She has a laceration with swelling right near her eyebrow. She just screamed and yelped and ran away. Anyways, I found her, put her in my car, brought her home, cleaned and polysporin-ed the wound, fed her, loved her up.
Pharoah is getting spayed today, has had her rabies shots and is dewormed. I put an ad in the Jaltemba Sol and am asking everyone I know if they could provide a home for her, but no luck as of yet. Jane Fellows

Many thanks to Brian and Carole Francoeur for finding Pancho a home!
“Wow!!! Well, looks like Pancho has a new home . We went to the
restaurant El Dollar, and saw how Augustine was
caring for his golden retriever. He is in a pen during the day
with shade, water and food. He has no fleas and no ticks. At
night the dog runs loose all around the yard. Augustine wanted
another dog for companionship for the other and for extra
guardian. We all know that a retriever is not best guard
dog. So we are hoping it will work-out for our Pancho.” Carole

“Thank you, Lin, for the marvelous work you and JBAR are doing.
I was so impressed with the compassion and love that was showered on the animals at the Spay and Neuter Clinic, along with medical procedures and much needed health care. A happier, healthier animal population can't help but enrich the life of the entire community.
It's a great work. Thank you so much,”

“THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE STUNNING EXPERIENE OF WORKING THAT WEDNESDAY AT THE SPAY CLINIC WITH ALL YOU ASTONISHINGLY SPIRITUALLY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! IT WILL ALWAYS BE A HIGHLIGHT OF MY SPIRITUAL LIFE - I FELT LIKE I WAS ASSISTING ¨DRS. WITHOUT BORDERS¨ IN THE MIDDLE OF A TROPICAL HURRICANE OR A DIRECT ATTACK ON THE NEIGHBOURHOOD VILLAGE, WITH THE CASUALTIES COMING IN FASTER THAN ROOM AVAILABLE FOR THEM ON THE STRETCHERS.
YOU·RE ALL SOME AMAZING SOULS ...GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS
LOVE,”
