Help for a Group of Huichol Indian children

They seem happy
They seem happy
There were 16 children below the ages of nine camped out under a partially destroyed shed.

All of the children were under 9 years of age

There were 40 adults out picking chiles. All children age 9 and above were considered to be working adults.

The wife of the community leader is in charge of the children

She is in charge until the parents return. The parents work from early morning until about 6 in the evening.

There was not even a broom in sight. A small pot of beans was cooking. There was little more than a mouthful apiece. The children were all looking at eat with hungry expectations.

We always have some food aboard to help the needy. We were not prepared for this amount. We leave what we have.

We also keep some clothing aboard on these trips and we gave out all. There were 4 babies in the group.

And she usually succeeds.

We were able to outfit all of the little girls, but ran short for the boys, and when we returned with more food and clothing later, we did not have enough men's clothing.

Babies caring for babies. Some had makeshift shelters but most slept in the open. There was no water for bathing or washing clothes.

Vicky and Bob return later with more food and clothing. We don`t have much left. This has just about exhausted our supply.

We were even able to give out some candy along with the clothing. Thanks to all of those generous folks that have kept a steady supply of clothing coming. We managed to leave them a little happier and they will not have empty tummies tonight.
